Adriatik Lapaj has sent a message to the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, proposing the unification of the protests, but without the use of party logos.
Moved a few meters away, near the Presidency of the Assembly, to free up space for the DP for this Monday's protest, Lapaj declared that he had offered a vision for a national protest, led only by the Albanian flag. He stressed that he would join the DP's protest if this approach were accepted.
"I have offered the vision for a national protest with the national flag, beyond the party logos. If the DP would accept this, I would be there with them, to make it massive, so that no one can stop us. We must understand that it should not be a rally, but a civic revolt with resistance, a revolt of people who come to the square and never leave. It does not go away with rallies, it has been tried for 13 years and has not gone away. That is why we need a national flag that leads us and a great unity of all Albanians, left and right, with or without a party," said Lapaj.
From public statements, it seems that the two political leaders are moving closer towards cooperation. Sali Berisha, in his statements to the media in recent weeks, has repeatedly praised the protests organized by Lapaj and called for their unity. On the other hand, Lapaj has not opposed these statements and, through his statement made this evening, seems to have given the signal of agreement for a possible cooperation.
