The Chairman of the Shkodra District Council, Edmond Ndou, was today part of the ceremony that the remaining communists organized in honor of the "heroes of Vigu". The photo shows Gjon Bruçi, the communist who demands the return of the bust of the "5 Heroes" in the city center. Neither the red star near the bust nor the raised fist in salute were missing.
It's good to know that there are still some communist nostalgics left in Shkodra, but how can we explain that an official state representative is at the same ceremony as them? Shouldn't someone remind them that there is a law - albeit a flawed one - that bans communist symbols? The history of communism is to be read from books and testimonies, not from the remains of a system that brought only wounds and pain. And Shkodra knows this better than anyone.
