Ministers and members of the Assembly end their vacation today and return to parliamentary activity. The new session will open with a meeting of the Conference of Speakers, which will review the calendar and work program for the next five weeks. Then, at 17:00, members of the Assembly will gather in plenary session.
The Immunity Council will be held on January 28, while the public session at the Constitutional Court is scheduled for January 22. Important reforms and draft laws still remain pending. The majority assesses that two of them, the electoral law and the law on territorial division, are priorities and should be completed by July, to ensure the holding of the 2027 local elections according to the Code and the new map. The opposition, however, has been boycotting the draft laws since December.
The Socialist Party warned that it will wait for the opposition's reflection until the start of this session, while in the absence of agreement, the majority could take the majority of seats at the table.
The plenary session of January 19, 2026 will begin at 5:00 p.m. The agenda includes: opening the proceedings of session II of the XI Legislature, approval of the minutes of the previous session of December 18, 2025, announcements, as well as the assignment of the Assembly services to publish the agenda, notification of members through electronic means, and connection to parliamentary documentation for review.
