The Parliament of Albania will hold today, at 10:00, the first meeting of the 11th Legislature, in implementation of the decree of the President of the Republic.
In the first session, the temporary mandate verification commission will be established, while the 140 deputies elected by the citizens will swear an oath on the Constitution for their representative and legislative responsibilities.
The results of the May 11 elections divided the parliamentary mandate as follows:
Socialist Party: 83 mandates
Democratic Party: 50 mandates
Social Democratic Party: 3 mandates
Opportunity Party: 2 mandates
Albania Becomes: 1 mandate
Joint Movement: 1 mandate
Out of 140 MPs in total, 72 will sit in the Parliament hall for the first time.
The chosen ones come from different professions:
32 from law, 31 from economics and others belong to fields such as medicine, natural sciences, social sciences, political sciences, as well as engineering, art and entrepreneurship. 25 deputies hold the degree of "Doctor of Sciences" and 5 deputies hold the title of "Professor".
