The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, commented on the new government cabinet at today's press conference. Berisha accused Rama of open discrimination against northern Albania.
According to him, the new government does not include any representatives from the north, which shows an unrestrained and unprecedented hatred towards this area.
"Of course, from what I see here, you will forgive me, but pathological hatred for the north has been expressed, no one from the north in the cabinet. This is the first cabinet in which he has expressed his unrestrained hatred towards the north of Albania and this is no coincidence. There has never been and is no occupier or dictator who has maintained this attitude towards the north that this one maintains. Investments in the north are less than 1/13 of investments in other areas of Albania," said Berisha.
The DP leader also introduced today the chairman of the parliamentary group, who will continue to be Gazment Bardhi. Although they had strong clashes with each other in the last parliament, Berisha praised Bardhi for leading the parliamentary group with dignity in a difficult time.
Two MPs, Belind Këlliçi and Tomorr Alizoti, who have been appointed deputy chairmen of the parliamentary group, will take on new positions.
The leader of the DP did not change the opposition's position for deputy speaker of the Assembly, which will continue to be MP Agon Gjekmarkaj.
While MP Elda Hoti has been elected as the Group's secretary and spokesperson Ledina Alolli.
