Ilir Alimehmeti spoke about the composition of the new government cabinet that was presented on Wednesday afternoon by the well-known prime minister. Invited to “Off the Record” with journalist Andrea Dangli, Alimehmeti said that he did not expect any innovations from the new cabinet, since Rama's previous mandates have shown that he commands everything. Further, Alimehmeti spoke about the elections that are expected to be held for the municipality of Tirana and the possibility that he will be the opposition candidate against Ogerta Manastirliu, announced today by the prime minister at the General Assembly of the Socialist Party.
"It doesn't matter whose name is the minister, Rama commands everything. Then there are the deputies. Even with the new law, the directors sign the signatures. We also saw the reactions that no one knew anything. The political vote has dropped. Half of the ministers should have known where they were. This is a do-it-yourself format. We have a situation when the prime minister left Tirana in the hands of illegitimate people and did not dismiss a mayor who went to prison, that's how the law is."
He ordered the municipal council to start the procedures. The law must be interpreted by the court. The municipal council proposes, it did not do it because it was waiting for Rama's OK. What changed for Rama today that he dismissed him, did he change any accusations, no. Did anyone come from outside? We will also talk internally. We will also have our own forums where we will discuss. I do not say anything before discussing at home. I believe that Berisha also has this attitude that it is discussed at home first. I do not work for news," said Alimehmeti.
