
The tributes in honor of Fatos Nano were attended not only by senior exponents of the Socialist Party and numerous citizens, but also by opposition officials. Among them were the Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, together with Agron Gjekmarkaj and Arjan Ndoja, the leader of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, the leader of the PAA, Agron Duka. The tribute was also paid by former leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha.



The ceremony was also attended by political figures from Kosovo and North Macedonia, including Albin Kurti and Ali Ahmeti.


Also present at these tributes are several religious leaders, including Archbishop Joan, Baba Mondi, Archbishop Arjan Dodaj, and the Head of the Muslim Community of Albania, Bujar Spahiu.

Also present were Fatos Nano's family members, including his wife Xhoana Nano, son Sokoli, and ex-wife Rexhina. Public tributes began at 8:30 a.m., while from 11:15 to 11:45, tributes were held by state figures and the diplomatic corps.

His wife Xhoana Nano, son Sokol Nano and Prime Minister Edi Rama each delivered a memorial speech. In respect of his contribution to the public and political life of the country, November 2 has been declared a national day of mourning. All flags in state institutions will be lowered to half-mast, while at 12:00 all activities will stop to observe a minute of silence.
Fatos Nano has led the Socialist Party for 14 years and served as the country's prime minister for several years with interruptions, leaving a prominent contribution to the political and public life of Albania.
