Florian Haçkaj reacted through a Facebook post regarding rumors mentioning him as one of the three possible opposition candidates for the by-elections in Tirana, to face the socialist Ogerta Manastirliu.
His reaction came a day after the opposition parties agreed on three potential candidates to challenge Manastirliu in the early elections for the Municipality of Tirana. The selected names are Edlira Çepani, Ermal Hasimja and Florian Haçkaj himself.
In his post, Haçkaj expresses his honor that his name was proposed as an option for the opposition and thanks all those who have supported this idea. He emphasizes that any political commitment requires careful decision-making and high responsibility, and such a decision can only be made in the event of an official proposal.
"The opposition is in dire need of a unifying figure. Both Edlira Çepani and Ermal Hasimja are personalities that I highly value and who could fulfill this task in the best way," writes Haçkaj.

I feel honored that my name has been proposed as one of the possible opposition candidates for the Municipality of Tirana and I thank all those who have suggested and supported this idea.
This is not only a personal assessment, but also a recognition of the role that the Diaspora for a Free Albania has provided and can provide in strengthening the opposition and in the democratic development of the country.
Any political commitment requires careful decision-making and high responsibility, and such a decision can only be made in the event of an official proposal.
