Socialist MP Erion Braçe has harshened his tone towards Agriculture Minister Andis Salla, during an interpellation requested by him in Parliament regarding the treatment of stray animals, their burial and cremation after death.
But instead of the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister for Local Government Ervin Demo was present in the hall, which brought an immediate reaction from Braça, who considered the absence of the Hall as a lack of respect for the Assembly and an attempt to avoid political responsibility.
"It is a profound lack of respect for the Assembly. A lack of respect that does not hide the epic inability to read, not simply to not do the job," declared Braçe from the podium.
The socialist MP said that no one can determine for him which minister he should conduct the interpellation with, attacking not only the ministry, but also the way in which, according to him, parliamentary procedures are being administered.
"A group leader cannot determine with whom I should make an interpellation. A minister cannot determine whether he or another minister will make my interpellation with him. The plenary preparation office cannot determine it either," said Brace.
In an ironic moment, he also spoke about the "rule of mental laziness" that, according to him, is dominating institutions.
Despite the absence of the Minister of Agriculture, Brace declared that he will continue the interpellation, because, as he expressed it, "I want to do my job."
The clash is another episode in the ongoing tensions between Braça and the Minister of Agriculture, whom the Socialist MP has repeatedly criticized in recent months for his management of the sector.
