The situation in this Thursday's parliamentary session also revealed a moment of tension within the majority, specifically between the Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, and the Socialist MP, Ulsi Manja.
The clash between the two SP representatives began in the first minutes of the session, when Manja asked for the floor to respond to statements made by Sali Berisha. However, Peleshi refused to give him the floor, while asking the MP to address him with respect and not in a social manner, calling him by name.
Manja reserved the answer later from the Parliament podium, where he did not spare irony towards the Speaker, telling him that he preferred cynicism with a microphone instead of his empathy without a microphone.
"Mr. Speaker of the Assembly, since you did not give me the floor to consume my minutes to respond to Sali Berisha for the accusations he made, I should at least ask you to apologize over the microphone, for lowering your ranks. And you preferred that instead of my public apology over the microphone, your cynicism over the microphone dominate, I want to remind you that the power of apology even without a microphone is much stronger than anyone's cynicism in relation to colleagues here in this hall," said Manja.
The socialist MP even did not hesitate to tell Pelesh that he knew the rules of the Assembly better than him, while in the end he tried to justify the tension between them as a consequence of the political clash that had developed earlier with Berisha.
"I know the rules of the Assembly, Mr. Speaker of the Assembly, both because of my experience as a deputy and as the chairman of the Laws Committee. When there is an issue for discussion with a set amount of time, of course, a reply is not allowed, but the right to change the order with my colleagues in the parliamentary group, in agreement with the colleague and with the understanding with you as the Speaker of the Assembly, exists according to the rules of the Assembly. But you did not have this understanding and you have my full understanding, because it is not easy to face a political dinosaur like Sali Berisha", said Manja.
The Peleshi-Manja clash adds to the recent tensions evident within the Socialists, following the Rama-Spiropali-Balluku and Braçe-Manastirliu episodes, reflecting a heated climate within the majority.
