The head of the DP parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted harshly to a Top Channel report, denying that there was any phone call with Taulant Balla regarding the resolution on European integration.
In a public statement, Bardhi described the news as "disinformation" and directly attacked the television, which he accused of being "the TV of Rama, Belinda, Gysi and Linda of AKSH".
"There was no phone call between me and Taulant Balla about the European integration resolution, as Top Channel misinforms. Taulant Balla doesn't dare to call me on the phone in the morning, let alone dare to call me on the phone at midnight," declared Bardhi.
He stressed that the opposition's support for European integration is public and institutional, adding that there is no need for "secret phone calls" or "television propaganda."
According to Bardhi, the majority has accepted about 90% of the opposition's amendments to the resolution, but he accused the government of delaying European integration due to protecting government corruption and rejecting European Union standards.
In his reaction, Bardhi also attacked Top Channel's role in reporting suspected corruption affairs, mentioning the names of Belinda Balluku and Ergys Agasi.
"Top Channel has long since become a media shield for the government and its corrupt affairs," he said.
Despite criticism of the media and the government, Bardhi declared that the DP will continue to support Albania's European integration, but "will not remain silent in the face of the corruption that is holding the country hostage."
