Adriana Kalaja, invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, has announced her candidacy for the Municipality of Tirana.
Kalaja said that she spoke with Sali Berisha and he stated that her request will be taken into account during discussions about the candidate.
Asked by Ylli Rakipi if she is afraid of a race where the campaign manager is Belinda Balluku, who "embarrassed" the DP in the Fier elections, Kalaja said she is ready to run regardless of the opponent facing her.
Ylli Rakipi : You have confirmed to me that you want to be a candidate for the Municipality of Tirana. Have you talked to the doctor and what does he think?
Adriana Kalaja : I have confirmed to the doctor, I have not told him that I want to run, but if the DP and the coalition, the opposition, need my name and my contribution, I am ready to run. This is not my innovation, I did not stand up one day after the news that the Prime Minister gave about the nomination of the SP candidacy for Tirana, but if we go back in time, I was a candidate in 2022 for the DP primaries, a primary that Belindi won and for which the same mandate is still in effect, because the 2022 primaries produced the candidate for the May 2023 elections. The first two winners, Mr. Këlliçi and Alimehmeti, have not expressed interest, and unfortunately Mr. Bogdani, who was the third, has passed away, so also in the statutory and moral aspect, I have shown my ambitions, I have had a comprehensive program, despite the fact that the media close to power and the competition within the party, were more concerned with the TNT thesis.

Adriana Kalaja : He said we will take it into consideration and after discussions we will decide, as there will be discussions with other leaders and allied parties. In the situation where Tirana is, at a very decisive moment, where the product is more important, with all the violations in the dismissal, in the end we were for the dismissal and punishment of Veliaj. It is the best moment for the opposition to come up with a common candidate, but also to break this mentality, that with Rama you cannot win and there cannot be free and fair elections.
Ylli Rakipi : The DP is contesting the May 11 elections, how can it enter these elections?
Adriana Kalaja : I think it was one of the moments that Rama also chose, I see it as his game, there is a drastic change in the situation. In any case, Rama is de facto mayor of Tirana. He chose the most difficult moment for the DP, but also the moment to announce elections in Tirana. After launching the elections, there is no longer any discussion about May 11.
Ylli Rakipi : Rama has taken the race in Tirana very seriously, he has appointed Belinda Balluku as campaign manager, a very heavy "artillery". After this news, it becomes even more difficult for you, because this gets a lot of votes, like the doctor says. This must be defeated, not the Monastery...
Adriana Kalaja : If this were powerful, she would be nominated.
