The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, has made a final call to the Democratic Party to participate in the Territorial Reform Commission that will be held today at 1:00 p.m. In a statement to the media, Balla said that if the Democrats do not reflect and boycott the Commission meeting, mechanisms will be taken to unblock the situation.
This means changing the composition of the special committee, where the Socialist Party will have one more member.
"I am not the type of person who makes ultimatums, but I have made a request to the DP group to reflect on the obligation to implement the Parliament's decision to establish the Territorial Commission. I believe that today at the Commission meeting not only the opposition MPs will be present but also that they will take on duties so that tomorrow at the Parliament session we will not be forced to establish mechanisms to unblock the situation. I hope for reflection, but if there is no such thing, Albania is also forced to undergo an expanded Electoral Reform," he said.
Balla also reiterated the position that until the Constitutional Court issues a decision on Balluk, the Mandates Council will not convene.
