Besim Ndregjoni, representative of the politically persecuted and former candidate for People's Advocate, invited to the "ÇdoKënd" studio by Merita Haklaj, on A2CNN, expressed his disappointment with the Democratic Party after the election of Endri Shabani to this position.
"We were the politically persecuted every night near Sali Berisha's house, defending the cause. We were the closest friends of America, who never accepted the "non-women" that America assigned to Sali Berisha and called it an injustice done to the Albanian opposition. Today I find myself facing two main problems. Facing Dr. Berisha, who I worked with, and facing my class, which has been holding me accountable for 24 hours. Why didn't the Democratic Party defend you as the only candidacy, but with a dry and not at all convincing discussion in Parliament, saying, we have two candidacies. Yesterday, the Socialist Party should have been told that the candidacy is Besim Ndregjoni and we will not allow the Parliament to continue its work without resolving this problem. They didn't do that, they made a political show and the most shameful thing was that the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, in an irresponsible manner, in a completely humane, completely political, completely moral manner, gives support to the chairman of the Communist Party, of the extreme left, a "The socialist, who not more than five months ago, in the May 11 elections, accused the leadership of the Democratic Party of not being in politics," said Ndregjoni.
"And the most shameful thing is that everyone is hiding that they have not given their signature. The most shameful thing is that the Democratic Party Presidency, excluding Dr. Berisha, have taken Endri Shabani, have included him in the parliamentary group, have given him signatures, have congratulated him. When asked how he felt about the argument that they used that they gave the signatures during the period when, together with Endri Shabani and other parties, they were supporting Florian Binaj for his candidacy for mayor of Tirana and in this climate the votes were also given for Endri Shabani, Ndregjoni replied: "This is not convincing. This is an excuse, but a stupid excuse. Florian Binaj was not a candidate of the Democratic Party. He was an independent candidate.
