Democrat Alesia Balliu has reacted harshly after Sali Berisha's statements, following the latter's accusations that she campaigned for other parties and was therefore disqualified from the race for DP leader.
Through a post on social media, Balliu has rejected the claims, asking Berisha not to attribute to the Democrats actions that, according to her, are related to his son, Shkëlzen Berisha, in relation to Prime Minister Edi Rama.
"Sali, don't blame us for what Shkëlzeni does with Rama," Balliu writes, adding that the DP leader must account for the loss of thousands of votes and the division within the party.
In her reaction, she raises a series of questions about the political and organizational situation of the Democratic Party, also mentioning concrete issues such as the problems of residents in the Rrjoll area, the cooperation of municipal councils with the Socialist Party, and the business relationships that, according to her, continue between individuals close to Berisha and the government.
Balliu also reminds Berisha of the "non grata" declaration by the United States several years ago, demanding explanations as to why this measure has not yet been lifted.
In the end, she states that she no longer expects a response from Berisha, as according to her he no longer controls the Democratic Party, which she describes as a "clique." Meanwhile, she emphasizes that she expects a response from Shkëlzen Berisha, whom she claims has a communication relationship with Prime Minister Rama.
