The United States Soccer Federation has officially announced the contract renewal of Mauricio Pochettino, who will continue as coach of the US national team until the 2030 World Cup.
The US Soccer Federation described the new agreement as "a new chapter" in the project to develop the men's national team, giving Pochettino and his staff the opportunity to continue working and have a greater impact on American soccer.
"Mauricio and his staff believe in the future of soccer in the United States, and our new project allows us to build on the progress of the U.S. men's national team and the momentum of American soccer," said U.S. Soccer Federation CEO and General Secretary JT Batson.
For his part, the Argentine coach expressed optimism about the future of the American team, emphasizing the great potential of soccer in the United States.
"The passion we experienced from the fans throughout the World Cup only strengthened our belief in what is possible here. We are excited about the opportunity to bring all our experience and knowledge to help strengthen pathways for players, coaches and teams across the Federation," said Pochettino.
Appointed as head coach of the US national team in 2024, the former Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea coach has set historic records with the USA for the number of victories and goals scored at the 2026 World Cup.
With this renewal, the US Federation aims to build a long-term project with the objective of further developing the national team and increasing the US's role in international soccer ahead of the 2030 World Cup.
