It was initially rumoured that the couple would marry at the historic Quinta da Regaleira estate in Sintra, but these rumours were dismissed as the site remained open to visitors over the weekend.
Sources quoted by British media indicate that several floors and rooms at the luxury hotel in Madeira have been reserved for two days, raising suspicions that the wedding party may take place there.
However, so far neither Cristiano Ronaldo nor Georgina Rodriguez have made an official confirmation of their marriage plans.
Choosing Madeira would have special meaning for the Portuguese star, as Ronaldo grew up in Funchal and has often spoken of his strong connection to his hometown. He even has a hotel named after him in the city, while Madeira has also erected a statue in his honour.
