Arsenal have shifted their focus to a new target in the summer transfer window after a failed attempt to sign Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian forward has signed a new contract with Real Madrid, ending speculation over a potential move to London.
According to foreign media, coach Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta have already identified the ideal alternative for the offensive department. It is Inter talent, Pio Esposito, for whom Arsenal has sent a scout to Perth, Australia, to closely monitor him during the preparatory phase.
The 21-year-old Italian has also attracted the attention of Manchester United and is considered one of the most promising strikers in Italian football. Standing at 1.91m, Esposito is valued for his physical strength, aerial ability and off-the-ball contribution, characteristics that fit the profile sought by Arteta.
Inter are not willing to give up on the striker easily and consider him a key player for the future. However, according to reports, an offer worth around 84 million euros could make the Nerazzurri board reconsider.
