The Irish Football Association has decided that Republic of Ireland fans will not be present at either of the two matches against Israel, valid for the 2026-2027 edition of the UEFA Nations League, justifying the decision with security concerns and organizational difficulties.
The FAI announced that it will not facilitate access for Irish fans to the stadium, both for the match that Israel will host on September 27 in Debrecen, Hungary, and for the match on October 4, where Ireland is officially the host, but which will be played behind closed doors in Baçka Topola, Serbia.
In an official statement, the Irish Federation stressed that the decision was made after assessing operational challenges and security-related issues.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Football Federation has confirmed that a limited number of Israeli fans will be allowed in for the September 27 match, while Irish supporters will not be able to watch either match from the stadium.
The second match of Group B3 between Ireland and Israel will take place on October 4 in Baçka Topola, Serbia and will be played without fans present.
