We know that Albanian is completely lacking in terms of holidays, festive atmosphere, happiness, harmony and many other things like that. I feel sorry for this ancient desire for holidays, but these conversations about the “iftar table”, the “iftar menu”, the “iftar atmosphere”, the full cafes, the bright lights and decorations everywhere, etc., are in vain, they are a mistake, a deformation and a departure from the essence of what Ramadan should be. Someone even said that it is a “Christmasization” of Ramadan.
Ramadan is not a festival. It has no main function in the social and community aspect, going out with friends and family, exchanging gifts and moments of happiness. This is desecration, profanation. Consumer culture.
Ramadan is personal. It's looking at yourself in the mirror. Debating. If it's three: you, yourself and God, that's great. If not, two is fine again.
EPILOGUE
Fasting means hunger. If there is no hunger, I feel bad, but something is wrong from the beginning. Nothing makes sense. In these remaining days, don't listen to food experts telling you how to compensate for vitamins lost during the day at iftar, don't listen to instructions on how to avoid thirst, etc. The party, the menu, the dishes, the full table, are for Eid. Ramadan is something else.
