Kylian Mbappe has made his ambition for the 2026 Ballon d'Or clear. The French Real Madrid star believes this could be the year he wins the prestigious individual trophy for the first time and wants the award to return to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The French striker stressed that his main argument in the race for the trophy is his performances on the field, hinting that he does not want to build his candidacy solely on statements.
"I think this is a good year to win it. My best advocate is my legs. No matter how much I talk, the most important thing for me is that the Ballon d'Or returns to Real Madrid," Mbappe declared.
The Frenchman added that the trophy should be returned to Madrid to give the club's fans another moment of joy.
"He must return to the Bernabeu, to the Madrid fans, to bring joy to all these people again. They deserve it more than anyone else," said the Real Madrid striker.
Mbappe also asked about one of his main rivals in the race for the Ballon d'Or, Lamine Yamal. Despite the rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona, the Frenchman spoke with respect for the Catalan talent and predicted a great future for him.
"He is a very talented player and I have the feeling that he will have a great career. I wish him all the best," Mbappe told Yamal.
