The meeting between the acting Prime Minister and leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, and the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has ended without an agreement on the formation of Kosovo's new institutions.
The two leaders met after the LDK Parliamentary Group meeting, but this round of talks also failed to produce an agreement on the creation of a governing majority. After the meeting, Kurti spoke briefly to the media.
"We have no news until we have an agreement. When we reach an agreement, we will be able to inform you," he declared.
This was the second meeting in two days between Kurti and Abdixhiku. Even the talks held the day before, which lasted about three hours, did not produce a political agreement on the division of responsibilities and the creation of institutions.
However, both sides have left open the possibility of continuing negotiations. Kurti has expressed readiness to cooperate with the LDK, describing it as an opportunity for "accelerated progress," while Abdixhiku has reiterated that the LDK seeks an "institutional balance," where no political force controls all the key state positions.
With the lack of an agreement even on key issues, including the election of the president, the possibility of new elections continues to remain on the table.
Meanwhile, the constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly is scheduled to be held tomorrow, at 10:00.
