Albanian-American activist Harry Bajraktari has announced that he has sent a letter to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, asking that the United States reconsider its support for the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
According to Bajraktari, the request comes after Rubio's initiative to oppose international courts that, according to him, exceed their mandate, become politicized and violate the sovereignty of states.
"Kosovo's experience with the Special Court should be included in this initiative. Justice should never be selective, political, or a mechanism to rewrite history," Bajraktari wrote.
In his post, he emphasizes that he has asked the US chief diplomat to review the US role and support for the Special Court, arguing that justice should be impartial and not be used for political purposes.

Yesterday I sent a letter to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, requesting that the United States reconsider its support for the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
I sent this letter following Secretary Rubio's initiative to oppose international courts that exceed their mandate, become unaccountable, politicized, and bureaucratic, violating sovereignty, public trust, and historical truth.
Kosovo's experience with the Special Court should be included in this initiative. Justice should never be selective, political, or a mechanism to rewrite history.
God bless America. God bless Kosovo and all the Albanian people.
