A serious incident was recorded in the village of Mamaj, in Tepelena, where two people were injured as a result of a grenade explosion.
According to preliminary information, 34-year-old Lisjen Shehu and 28-year-old Xhuljano Sala were injured during the incident. It is suspected that one of them was in a hut where grenades were kept, when one of them exploded in his hands. As a result, he suffered serious injuries and is suspected of losing both hands.
The young man was initially transported to the hospital and then urgently flown to Tirana for specialized treatment.
Another young man, about 20 years old, was also injured in the explosion, suffering head and facial injuries. He is in serious condition at the Gjirokastra hospital, and is expected to be transported to Tirana for more specialized treatment.
It is suspected that the explosive material was in the hut where the young people were at the time of the incident, while the full circumstances of the incident still remain unclear.
