A 19-year-old Greek woman has reported that two men attempted to rape her at a nightclub in Athens.
According to Greek media, she accuses a police officer and his friend, while it is said that she was accompanied to the table by her Albanian boyfriend.
The two people reported were placed in handcuffs, but they told another version of the incident, saying that they were physically attacked by the people the girl was with at the table, including her boyfriend and a well-known Albanian boxer, whose identity has not been made public.
According to the Greek media outlet "Espresso", which has revealed the prosecution's file, the young woman testified that she was in the toilet of a club in central Athens when two people attempted to rape her.
According to the testimony, a 34-year-old man is suspected of initially touching the 19-year-old woman at the entrance to the toilets, in the presence of his friend, a police officer, who, as the girl says, appeared to be "having fun."
The lawsuit for attempted rape and assault on sexual dignity was filed with the Prosecutor's Office on July 1, 2025 and describes in detail everything that happened on June 21, 2025, at 5:10 a.m.
“I was at a VIP table with my boyfriend, MA, 22, and in the presence of their mutual friend KS. We were having a great time dancing together, after having consumed a small amount of alcohol. Around 5 am I headed alone towards the toilet [corridor] and suddenly I felt someone pulling me by the left arm, making me turn to see what was happening. Then I noticed next to me a man in a black shirt, 1.75 to 1.80 tall, 28 to 30 years old, with dark hair with a mustache, with a characteristic barcode-type tattoo on his neck. Right next to him stood a dark-haired man, apparently his friend, a little taller, with a short haircut, 28 to 30 years old, who was laughing and encouraging him. […]
However, both of them were completely unknown to me. As soon as I turned around to see what was happening, the unknown man who violently stopped me looked clearly drunk, in a bad mood, smelled strongly of alcohol and said to me “why aren’t you talking to us, you whore? Come here, in our company, tell us your name”. I was confused, I didn’t say anything and just tried to go to the toilet.
However, he was following me from behind, trying to grab me by the shoulder, simultaneously touching my buttocks and addressing me with vulgar phrases, saying: “What are these dirty lips, let’s go to…., you’ll like it”. He tried to enter the toilet with me at the same time, but I, screaming, managed to push him away and enter the toilet, closing the door behind me. I felt terrified, I couldn’t breathe and I was shaking.
Luckily I had my cell phone with me and tried to contact my partner to help me get out of the bathroom safely and to calm me down. I sent him messages, as I couldn’t speak due to the great shock I had suffered. He, from the content of the messages, understood that something was happening and called me on the phone. Indeed, my partner rushed to help me and accompanied me to the table, telling him that “the girl is accompanied”.
However, the unknown men followed us to the table and continued to make gestures at me. We immediately notified the store managers, informing them of the inappropriate behavior, and asked the manager to remove them so that we could leave safely, while at the same time paying our bill. The store manager, after talking to them for a while, came back and told us that he could not remove them and that it would be better for us to leave, without giving us any further explanation, which deeply concerned us about the relationship that existed between them.
As we were leaving, the two unknown men approached us again and the first one told us, among other things, “you’re not going anywhere – first you’re going to buy us a drink,” while then he said to me, “little beauty, what do you want with that Albanian boy?”, trying to touch me again.
"But then my partner stopped him, resulting in their simultaneous attempt to punch him in the face in front of all the customers in the store. However, my partner defended himself and we managed to escape in panic," the 19-year-old concludes her complaint to the Athens Prosecutor's Office.
What do the defendants claim?
On the same morning of the incident, the Rapid Intervention Unit was mobilized and the case was assigned to the Extortion Department, after the 30-year-old police officer and his 34-year-old friend presented a completely different account of their beating by the 19-year-old's partner and a well-known Albanian boxer – a version that the Police, surprisingly, adopted in the case file they compiled, in which there is absolutely no mention of any attempted rape.
In the transfer note, they completely “exaggerate” the 30-year-old police officer and his 34-year-old friend, stating the following: “The [off-duty] police officer and his 34-year-old friend were customers in the hallway near the table in the private area where the girl’s group of four men, including the boxer, were. Initially, they engaged in a verbal confrontation due to the 34-year-old individual’s incitement to the girl’s company in the context of social interaction… The 34-year-old employee of the transport company tried to buy the boxer a drink, but the latter resisted and asked him to leave the store. But then his police friend intervened to calm the situation. However, suddenly and without provocation and in an unexpected manner, the boxer punched first the police officer and then his 34-year-old friend, injuring them in the face. The police officer fell bleeding and unconscious on the floor for several minutes, until he came to and they were both taken to the hospital.” together.
However, the case file notes that the Albanian “earlier that same day had created another tension with other customers, which, however, did not escalate due to the master's experience in resolving such incidents.”
The final act of this complex case was written on the evening of July 14, when the Albanian boxer was spotted by men from the Extortion Department moving on foot in Neos Kosmos and arrested after an adventurous chase and making "serious resistance with kicks."
However, in his house, on Minoos Street, a multitude of anabolic substances were found, as well as cocaine weighing 46 grams in a glass jar, as well as three nylon packages containing crystal methamphetamine weighing a total of 7 grams, precision scales and a metal spoon with cocaine residue. It should be noted that on 9/4/2024, the notorious Albanian was arrested in Haidari, after causing bodily harm to two foreigners inside the “Attikon” Hospital. (TCH)
