SPAK has postponed the investigations into former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj until March 22. The reason is to buy time and wait for the letters of request sent to foreign authorities.
According to legal provisions, this is the last time that SPAK can postpone the investigations and will then decide whether or not to send the case for trial.
This is the sixth time that investigations against former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, who is being investigated in connection with the incinerators case, have been postponed for the criminal offenses of corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets.
Arben Ahmetaj was declared wanted on July 10, 2023, by order of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of "corruption", "money laundering" and "hiding assets".
