An explosive device explosion occurred in the early hours of this Sunday morning in the Xhamlliku area of Tirana, causing panic among residents of the area, but fortunately without any human consequences.
According to preliminary data, the target of the attack is suspected to have been an internet service store, "MCN Get Connected", owned by Endri Meksi. The explosion caused only material damage.
The incident occurred at around 04:30 on “Xhanfize Keko” Street. Immediately after the explosion, police surrounded the area and launched investigations to fully clarify the circumstances and identify the perpetrators.
"Around 04:30, on 'Xhanfize Keko' street, in the internet services store owned by citizen EM, a quantity of suspected explosive material exploded, causing only material damage. The investigation group, together with the Police services, are working to clarify the circumstances of the case and identify and apprehend the perpetrator," the police announced.
Meanwhile, according to reports from the field, investigators suspect that the explosive device may have been placed as a form of threat. The explosion also affected the surrounding premises, as there is also a dental clinic on the second floor in the same building, owned by a citizen from Kosovo.
Authorities continue to work to fully document the event, and it is expected that more details on the motives and possible perpetrators will be available in the coming hours.
