The Supreme Court ruled to reject Belinda Balluku's appeal and left in force the security measure "suspension from exercising functions" for the former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Infrastructure.
The decision was made by the Criminal College, with rapporteur Ilir Panda. Belinda Balluku filed a recourse with the Supreme Court and opposed the suspension measure, claiming that she had been removed from the functions she held and that, according to her, the measure had lapsed.
The former number two in the government is being investigated for corruption and money laundering, and is also accused of abuses with road tenders.
