After years of seizing and occupying the National Library, the government has dismissed Pirro Misha as director of the National Library. The decision was made today at a government meeting.
Misha was appointed by the Rama government as director of the National Library in 2019, replacing Persida Asllani in this position.
It remains to be seen who will succeed Misha as director of the National Library.
DECISION ON THE RELEASE OF THE DIRECTOR OF THE NATIONAL LIBRARY FROM DUTIES
In support of Article 100 of the Constitution and Article 27 of Law No. 8576, dated 3.2.2000, “On Libraries in the Republic of Albania”, upon the proposal of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, the Council of Ministers
DECIDED:
1. Mr. Piro Misha, director of the National Library, is relieved of this duty.
2. The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports is responsible for the implementation of this decision.
This decision enters into force immediately and is published in the "Official Gazette".
