Supporters and representatives of the Democratic Party began their march from the Blue House to the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday, as part of the announced national protest against the government of Edi Rama. However, the absence of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, who had earlier called for mass participation, was conspicuous at the rally.
Berisha had urged citizens, regardless of age or political beliefs, to join the protest in support of students, who have been demanding the prime minister's resignation for months. But while the democrats have taken to the streets, the opposition leader has not appeared among the protesters.
Meanwhile, students have called for another national protest for today, at 2:00 PM, in front of the Ministry of Education. After more than 160 days of rallies, the young people continue to insist on the removal of Edi Rama from the leadership of the government, warning that the protests will continue until their demand is met.
