Senior officials from Turkey, Egypt and Pakistan held separate talks with US envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi over the past two days in an effort to ease tensions between the US and Iran, according to Axios journalist Barak Ravid on the X platform.
"The mediation is continuing and making progress. The discussions are about ending the war and resolving all outstanding issues. We hope to have answers soon," Ravid said, citing a source familiar with the matter.
However, there is still no clarity on the stage of negotiations to achieve what former President Donald Trump called a “full and total resolution” of the conflict. According to reports, Iran has denied any direct or indirect communication with the US.
At the same time, Trump told Fox Business that talks with Iran took place Sunday night with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The negotiations, brokered by other countries, are aimed at avoiding further escalation of tensions and finding a path to a diplomatic solution.
