Local sources and family members in Gaza have leveled serious accusations against Israeli forces, claiming that a child of about 18 months was abused to exert pressure on his father during an incident in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp, in central Gaza.
According to family testimony, Osama Abu Nassar was leaving his home with his son to buy supplies when he was caught in gunfire near the area he lived in. He was stopped by Israeli soldiers and ordered to put the child down as he approached a checkpoint, where he was then stripped naked.
According to witnesses, the child was taken by soldiers while his father was being interrogated at a checkpoint. Family members allege that the child was abused during this process, while a medical report cited by local sources says he had burn marks and injuries to his legs.
The child, named Karim, was returned to his family after about 10 hours through the International Committee of the Red Cross, while his father reportedly remains in detention.
The claims have not been independently confirmed and there has been no official reaction from the Israeli military so far.
