In a response published on the Truth Social platform, Trump called on Iran to "be smart" and accept a deal, emphasizing that the country should not possess nuclear weapons.
According to him, Iranian authorities are failing to organize themselves to sign an agreement.
The President's statements come at a time of diplomatic deadlock, after several days of no progress in efforts to reduce tensions. In parallel, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Trump administration is considering extending the blockade of Iranian ports.
According to official sources cited by the newspaper, this measure aims to increase economic pressure on Iran, especially in the oil export sector.
It is also reported that the US President has asked his advisors to prepare scenarios for a longer blockade, as an alternative to other, more dangerous options.
