A serious incident has shocked Italy, after a small plane crashed in the province of Vercelli, between the municipalities of Crescentino and Livorno Ferraris, crashing into a rice field and then catching fire.
There were only two people on board: Massimiliano Monticone, 49, a former Italian Air Force pilot and currently an air traffic controller at the ENAV radar center in Linate, and his daughter Simona, only 18 years old. Both tragically lost their lives.
According to reports, the bodies were pulled from the wreckage and taken to the Sant'Andrea hospital in Vercelli, where they will undergo an autopsy. The causes of the accident remain unclear, while investigators are examining all leads: technical defect, engine problems or human error.
Monticone lived in the province of Alessandria and was known for his passion for aviation, which he shared with his children. In his posts on social media, he expressed that he did not like flying alone, emphasizing his desire to share this experience with his loved ones.
Tragically, the passion that bound father and daughter turned into disaster, taking their lives in the most painful way. The aviation community and families are shocked by the loss of two young lives, eternally united by the love of flying.
