Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will discuss plans for the invasion of Gaza with his cabinet within 48 hours, specifically on Thursday.
Earlier today, Netanyahu held a three-hour limited security meeting, where he weighed options on the territory – see our post at 4:54 PM.
This came ahead of a full security cabinet meeting, which Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 says will take place on Thursday. Reports suggest the meeting will begin at 6pm (4pm UK time).
Underlying all of this is Netanyahu's reported decision to proceed with a full-scale occupation of Gaza.
In a development beyond Gaza, but still very much related to the war, the Hezbollah chief has directly threatened Israel.
Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem directly threatened Israel for the first time in months in a televised speech on Tuesday, saying rockets would fall on it if it resumed a full-scale war in Lebanon.
His comments came as Lebanon's cabinet met to discuss the fate of Hezbollah's arsenal, after Washington pressured Lebanese officials to commit to disarming the Iran-backed group and amid fears that Israel could intensify attacks if it does not.
