Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who is attending the informal European Council meeting in Nicosia, has indirectly commented on the absence of former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, without directly mentioning his name.
In a post on the X platform, Tusk wrote: “European Council meeting. For the first time in years, no Russians in the room. A big relief.”
The absence of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was explained by the Hungarian side with the transitional situation in the country, following recent political developments and the need to hand over power after last week's parliamentary elections.
The meeting in Nicosia is taking place amid discussions on security issues and the European Union's foreign policy.
