Zohran Mamdani, recently elected as the new mayor of New York City, has repeated his criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, just hours after the outgoing mayor, Eric Adams, met with the Israeli leader and encouraged him to attend Mamdani's inauguration.
Last November, the International Criminal Court's Pre-Trial Chamber I issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with using starvation as a method of warfare and crimes against humanity, including murder and persecution.
Invited live on "ABC7," Mamdani said that Adams' meeting with Netanyahu shows a deep disconnect from the city's emergencies, emphasizing that New Yorkers "are desperate for an administration" that focuses on the real needs of the people.
“New Yorkers are on the verge of being evicted from the city they call home, and his actions have nothing to do with the affordability crisis,” Mamdani said.
“What these actions show is why New Yorkers are so desperate for a new administration — an administration that will focus on the needs of the city and speak to workers, not war criminals,” he added.
