American billionaire Elon Musk has brought back attention to the demographic crisis that is engulfing Europe, reposting a post on the X platform that speaks of a "historic collapse in births." According to him, the decline in birth rates is becoming a worrying phenomenon that is also severely affecting countries in our region.
" Many countries are experiencing declining birth rates ," Musk wrote, sharing analysis by user DogeDesigner, who warns that Europe is facing a historic collapse in births.
The billionaire has also published statistics for several countries that are experiencing drastic declines in fertility:
Finland has lost a third of its fertility rate since 2010.
Switzerland, England, Scotland and Wales are experiencing historic lows in birth rates.
Poland is reported to be at its lowest fertility rate in the last 200 years.
Greece is considered the country with the lowest fertility rate in all of Europe.
Spain, Italy, Austria and Germany are recording their lowest birth rates in over 35 years.
Musk has often warned that population decline will become one of the greatest challenges of modern societies, underlining that the demographic crisis is expected to have profound economic, social and financial consequences in the coming decades. This is the second time that the American billionaire has brought this concern back to Europe.
