Former European Union (EU) ambassador to Palestine, Sven Kühn von Burgsdorff, called on Brussels to keep the sanctions agenda against Israel alive.
Former EU ambassadors gathered in front of the European Commission building in Brussels, where the EU is governed. The former EU representative to Palestine, Ambassador Von Burgsdorff, spoke at the protest, which was also attended by staff from various EU institutions.
Von Burgsdorff said they have sent repeated letters to the EU administration demanding sanctions against Israel until a ceasefire is reached and particularly highlighted Germany's indifference to the issue.
After drawing attention to Israel's continued attacks and civilian casualties following the Gaza ceasefire, Von Burgsdorff said: "This is not a real ceasefire."
