Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon kill eight people

At least eight people, including two children, were killed after three Israeli drone attacks on vehicles on the main highway connecting Beirut to southern Lebanon.

The attacks took place on Wednesday in the Jiyeh area, about 20 kilometers south of the Lebanese capital, causing panic and extensive material damage. Photos published by the Lebanese National News Agency show cars completely destroyed, burned and torn apart by the explosions.

Journalists on the ground report that the situation in southern Lebanon is becoming more dire by the day, as clashes between Israel and Hezbollah continue to intensify. According to Lebanese authorities, civilians are paying the highest price of the conflict, with numerous casualties and a growing humanitarian crisis.

The Israeli military also issued new evacuation orders for residents of several villages in southern Lebanon, including Meiss el-Jabal, Hula and Burj Shemali, warning that it would undertake military operations “with force.” Residents were asked to move at least one kilometer away from threatened areas.

Reports from the city of Tyre indicate that hospitals in the south of the country are facing great difficulties. Some of them are located within evacuation zones and remain the only functional centers for thousands of residents still living in the region. Doctors and emergency teams are facing difficulties in transporting the wounded, while many patients are unable to receive help in time.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least 380 people have been killed during the ceasefire alone. The total number of casualties since the start of the Israeli offensive and bombing on March 2 has exceeded 2,800. Authorities also report that more than 108 health workers and emergency teams have lost their lives during the war, while over 140 attacks have been recorded on ambulances and medical facilities.

Meanwhile, Lebanon and Israel are expected to hold a new round of negotiations in Washington, mediated by the United States. However, the Hezbollah group has stated that it opposes these talks, while tensions on the border continue to rise.

The humanitarian crisis in southern Lebanon is deepening. According to reports from the ground, over a million people have been displaced from their homes due to shelling and fears of further escalation of the war.

Është çështje koherence, përgjegjësie dhe humanizmi”, deklaroi lideri socialist. “Ne jemi në anën e duhur të historisë”, shtoi ai.
