US intelligence agencies have contradicted President Donald Trump's claims that Iran is weakening. According to reports submitted to Congress, Iran continues to have a large missile arsenal and remains a serious threat in the region.
Trump has declared that Iran has been “destroyed” and that Tehran’s naval, air and missile forces are all but destroyed. However, US intelligence assessments paint a different picture, indicating that Iran’s military capabilities are still considerable.
Tensions between Iran and the US have risen after US President Donald Trump rejected Tehran's response to a US peace proposal, saying the ceasefire was close to total failure. Meanwhile, the speaker of Iran's parliament warned that the Iranian military was ready to "teach a lesson" to any aggressor.
On the other hand, Israel has strengthened military cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, after the US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, confirmed the sending of anti-missile systems and military personnel to protect against Iranian attacks. Meanwhile, the cost of the war with Iran has reached $29 billion, according to the Pentagon, while other estimates suggest the real figure could be even higher.
