The European Parliament has reacted sharply to Donald Trump's warning to impose 25% tariffs on cars imported from the European Union, considering this action "unacceptable".
The head of the European Parliament's International Trade Committee, Bernd Lange, said that the US is behaving like an "unsafe" partner in trade relations between the two sides of the Atlantic.
"The European Parliament continues to respect the agreement reached in Scotland and is committed to concluding the relevant legislation. On the other hand, the United States is not fulfilling its obligations," Lange stated in a reaction on X.
He also stressed that the European Union must remain clear and firm in the face of these developments, strongly criticizing the US trade approach.
