The Czech Republic, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Spain will host new artificial intelligence factories with an investment of over $578 million from EU member states.
The European Union's High Performance Computing Partnership (Euro HPC) initiative announced on Friday that six new artificial intelligence (AI) factories will be established in the Czech Republic, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Spain.
“The new AI factories will join 13 previously selected countries, forming a connected network of AI hubs ready to drive innovation across Europe,” Euro HPC said in a statement.
The statement highlights that the last six countries identified will create AI factories and new AI-optimized systems to further expand the artificial intelligence infrastructure in Europe.
The AI Factory in Spain will also include an experimental platform, which will serve as a modern infrastructure for developing and testing innovative AI models and applications, as well as promoting collaboration in Europe, according to the statement.
The AI Factories will also offer one-stop services for the entire country and provide comprehensive support for European AI startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as researchers.
It was highlighted that the six new AI factories will be supported by an investment of over 500 million euros ($578.6 million) from the EU and member states, which would expand Europe's high-performance computing capacity and accelerate the use of artificial intelligence in key sectors.
"This expansion strengthens Europe's position as a global leader in artificial intelligence and ensures that AI solutions can be developed, tested and scaled up within a digitally sovereign European ecosystem," the statement added./TRT Balkan
