Marina Berlusconi has reacted strongly to an article published in Il Fatto Quotidiano about the Forza Italia movement, categorically denying any allusion to her entering politics and describing the article as offensive and containing misogynistic content.
In a public letter, the head of Fininvest and Mondadori, as well as the daughter of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, says the language used in the article conveys “contempt towards women.” She compares the author’s style to that of a “primitive man” and suggests that it borders on forms of public shaming.
Berlusconi addresses the author, Pino Corrias, directly, accusing him of attitudes rooted in gender prejudice and a patriarchal mentality. Ironically, she adds that she feels sorry for the women who are part of his life.
In the same statement, she also criticizes the newspaper's editorial line, mentioning names such as Marco Travaglio and Corrias himself, for whom she says she considers their attacks a "badge of honor." According to her, the newspaper in question has built its identity on a consistent stance against the Berlusconi family. Her reaction has reignited discussions in Italy about the ethics of public debate and the relationship between the media and famous figures.
