
An armed attack on a high school in the Turkish province of Kahramanmaraş has left four people dead and at least 20 others injured, according to authorities.
The incident occurred inside an educational institution, which was evacuated immediately after the shooting, while numerous police forces and emergency teams arrived at the scene.
The provincial governor, Mükerrem Ünlüer, stated that the perpetrator of the attack was a high school student, who allegedly used the weapons of his father, a former police officer.
According to him, the attacker arrived heavily armed and opened fire on two classrooms, causing casualties among teachers and students. In total, 1 teacher and 3 students lost their lives, while several other people were injured.
Authorities also confirmed that the attacker died at the scene after the incident, while investigations are ongoing to clarify the motives and full circumstances of the tragedy.
