Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, has once again become the subject of comments after an episode at a diplomatic event in New York.
Nebenzya, known for his statements to the Security Council about “killer birds,” “poisonous bats,” and “war mosquitoes” that he said were being developed in American laboratories in Ukraine, attended an informal meeting of the beer club among UN ambassadors — something he reportedly usually avoids.
But his presence there lasted very little.
The Ukrainian delegation brought a selection of craft beers from the Pravda brewery in Lviv. Among them was the beer “Syla”, whose label depicts a red silhouette of the Kremlin with its towers collapsing, while the blue and yellow flag of Ukraine flutters above.
According to reports, Nebenzya approached the bar, saw the selection of Ukrainian beers, and left the event within minutes.
