Barcelona have not made any offers for Lautaro Martinez and the Inter striker is no longer considered a priority target by the Catalan club, who continue to search for a new number 9 for next season.
With the summer transfer window approaching, Barcelona remain focused on Julian Alvarez, despite Atletico Madrid not wanting to let their star man leave for a direct rival. According to renowned Catalan journalist Gerard Romero, Barcelona have not made any official offer for Lautaro, while the Argentine striker has not received any offers from the Blaugrana club either.
Lautaro was previously one of Barcelona's main targets, but the situation has changed and the Inter captain has now dropped down the list of priorities. The number one target remains Julian Alvarez, but a deal with Atletico Madrid seems unlikely, as the Madrid club are unwilling to lose one of their most important players to a direct rival.
If the attempt to sign Alvarez fails, Barcelona have considered several alternatives, including Viktor Gyokeres, Luis Suarez, Nicolo Tresoldi and Victor Osimhen. However, so far none of these names seem to have fully convinced the Catalan leaders.
In this situation, Barcelona could choose to continue the season with the players they currently have available. One name that is gaining more and more attention is Hamza Abdelkarim, with the Catalan club seeing the young Egyptian striker as a potential future alternative in the number 9 position.
Meanwhile, Karim Adeyemi, Dani Olmo and Raphinha could also be used in the centre of attack, giving Hansi Flick some tactical alternatives.
With just a few days until the transfer window closes, Barcelona must make an important decision: invest in a new number 9 or continue the season with the alternatives they have in the squad.
