Barcelona are preparing a bid for Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi if a move for the Catalans' main target Julian Alvarez fails. According to journalist Gerard Romero, the Spanish club could start moving for the 22-year-old as early as next week.
Barcelona are racing against time to secure a new number nine before the summer transfer window closes and Tresoldi has emerged as one of the club's main options.
The striker, born in Cagliari and of German and Italian descent, currently plays for Club Brugge, where he has scored 26 goals in 61 appearances. Before moving to Belgium, Tresoldi played for Hannover, recording 80 appearances, mainly in the second division of German football.
According to Romero, Tresoldi is looking forward to the possibility of a transfer to Barcelona. However, Club Brugge are expected to demand at least 50 million euros for his card.
The Catalans have also considered other options in attack, including Lautaro Martinez, Viktor György and Luis Suarez. However, Tresoldi now seems to have become a serious option for Barcelona's leaders.
Age, physical profile and goal-scoring ability make the German-Italian striker an attractive candidate for the offensive department of Hansi Flick's team.
Barcelona have already completed the transfer of Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge this summer and could return to the Belgian club for another player if they fail to complete their preferred move for Julian Alvarez.
