Internationally wanted by Interpol Tirana, suspected of the murder of an Albanian citizen in Thessaloniki in 2020, the 26-year-old was captured in Greece.
As a result of the information and operational coordination between counterparts of the Interpol Directorate and Interpol Athens, during this phase of the operation codenamed "The Wanted", the internationally wanted citizen, RT, 26 years old, born in Korça, was provisionally arrested in Greece, with the aim of extradition to Albania.
In 2021, the Korça Court assigned this citizen the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense of "Intentional Murder", committed in collaboration.
The investigation suspects that in 2020, in Thessaloniki, citizen RT, in collaboration with 2 other citizens, killed Albanian citizen SD, whom they initially raped and then attacked with cutting tools.
The victim's family members have filed a report in Korça about the incident that occurred in Thessaloniki and actions have been coordinated with the Greek authorities.
Interpol Tirana continues to cooperate with Interpol Athens to finalize the procedure for the extradition of the 26-year-old to Albania.
