In a luxury villa in the White Rock complex in Dhërmi, which is suspected to be the hidden wealth of former Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, SPAK suspects that significant amounts of money were kept. According to a photo discovered on Balluku's cleaning lady's phone, it turns out that the money in euros was placed in a red box. The photo turns out to have been taken from the cleaning lady's husband's cell phone, who sent it to the latter.
The investigative file states that: "From the minutes of the examination of the data obtained from the act of technical computer expertise, where the mobile phone of the seized citizen Lavdrim Smone (husband of citizen Lavdije Smone, who works as a cleaning worker in the house of citizen Belinda Balluku) was examined, interesting photographs and videos dated June 12, 2019 and subsequent periods have resulted. These photographs show various rooms of the F6 villa, located in the White Rocks complex in Dhërmi."
The file states that the cellphone of Lavdije Smone, a cleaner at Balluk's house, was examined. Initially, the cellphone was used by M. Smone, Lavdije Smone's daughter.
On July 17, 2021, on the WhatsApp application, Lavdrim Smone sends a photo, which shows a red box containing bundles of 50-euro banknotes tied with rubber bands, apparently in the premises of villa F6 in the White Rock complex.
On July 24, 2022, the two daughters of the cleaner discuss the "visits" to the villa in Dhërmi. Sisters M. Smone and A. Smone talk about the movements towards Dhërmi. A. Smone writes: "You have a point", "or just for Belinda?". M. Smone replies: "Yes for Belinda", "on Wednesday for that other one". She further emphasizes: "Tomorrow mom and dad will leave", "I will go on Wednesday with mom".
Belinda Balluku is accused of money laundering, concealment of assets, corruption and violation of equality in tenders. Her former subordinates and well-known businessmen have also been charged with the crime. The "Balluku" case is expected to be submitted for trial at the GJKKO.
